Farewell My Love (Te digo adios)

This was a farewell poem that the poet persona gave to the one he once loved and would never see again.

Farewell, farewell my love,
but in my heart I hide this sorrow,
for the love that remains unborn,
but not yet lost.
At His shrine I said a prayer,
in the temple of the nascent sun
to flood your sweet mind
with the ambrosia of endless bliss,
and suffuse your pure heart
for eternity...

Farewell, farewell my love,
(and I'm hiding my tears) ,
but a river runs within
with deep longing,
'cause my heart and mind,
leaves with you in this song,
of sour-sweet melodies,
which never lost will be,
'cause will come the day
that I'll be yours for ever.

Farewell, farewell, in hope,
that it won't be the last,
that you'll soon be back,
that finally your passionate love,
like mine, will be as such,
and never ceases to be alive,
in the deepest core of my being,
and there always will remain,
and never forget what means to love.

Farewell... should we say the last adieu,
'cause if here my life would end,
your love's memory I will retain,
what wasn't but could have been.
I love you and I always will,
and within my mind a sweet song,
I'll sing with heavenly joy,
to fill your heart with divine glee,
to remember my love, to remember me.

(August 1,2009)

Te digo adiós con todo mi amor,
pero en mi corazón oculto el dolor,
por este amor que no ha nacido,
pero que aun no lo siento perdido.
