Small Wonder
She broke her collar-bone
in a soccer game, meant for fun.
She's so tough and fearless, at times.
So small and fragile, at others.
Always she's a wonder, to me.
I'm afraid she just may
punch-out the high school bully...
or break, like a twig in a whirlwind.
She's soft; she's strong.
I'm proud of her; I worry about her.
She's my daughter; my small wonder.
My little girl, growing up.
And I love her,
endlessly.
