Well, I'm an angry man, I sing an angry song,
Tell you, honey, it won't be long,
Well, I'll pack my bags, get out of here
With my guitar and a case of beer.
Well I'm going north and I'm going south,
Tell you, honey, better shut your mouth,
Well, I'll kick your head from here to hell,
You better know I can do it well.
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Losing all my money, well, it really ain't so funny, hon,
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Tell you what baby, well you better be moving on.
Well I really don't know I'm going for sure,
Ain't got a map and it ain't no tour,
I'm just heading out for the open sky,
Who knows, I might even die.
Well, don't you worry your pretty little head,
I never give a damn what I did or said,
That's why I'm packing to leave this place,
Can't stand to look at your cheating face.
Midnight train, rambling, rambling,
All night long I'm gambling, gambling,
Losing all my money, well, it really ain't so funny, hon,

Keep Gambling
Keep gambling
As questions
Instinctive living
Memories go blunt
Dark slums
Keep gambling
Survival game
Gets beyond guts
On the street
Dead mother floating
Religious riot
Keep gambling
A small hope of love
Running hiding
Betrayals of friends
Masters and jealousies
Keep gambling
Satire and irony
Hardest reality
Brute law
Third world slum
In urbanity
Away the fantasy
Platoon of dancers
Keep gambling
To find answers
Follow the signs
From the past
As life unravels
Keep gambling
In faith
Nothing as adverse
Nothing so unusual
Broken sword
Of fate
Never let it a chance
To kill
Keep gambling
For life itself
From life itself

Na Tian Piet's Sha'er Of The Late Sultan Abu Bakar Of Johor
In the name of God, let his word begin:
Praise be to God, let praises clear ring;
May our Lord, Jesus Christ's[8] blessings
Guide my pen through these poetizings!
This sha'er is an entirely new composition
Composed by myself, no fear of imitation.
It's Allah's name, I will keep calling out
While creating this poem to avoid confusion.
This story I'm relating at the present moment
I copy not, nor is it by other hands wrought;
Nothing whatsoever is here laid out
That hereunder is not clearly put forth.
Not that I am able to create with much ease,
To all that's to come I'm yet not accustomed;
Why, this sha'er at this time is being composed
Only to console my heart which is heavily laden.
I'm a peranakan[9], of Chinese origin,
Hardly perfect in character and mind;
I find much that I can not comprehend,
I'm not a man given to much wisdom.
Na Tian Piet[10] is what I go by name
I have in the past composed stories and poems;
Even when explained to - most stupid I remain
The more I keep talking the less I understand.
I was born in times gone by
In the country known as Bencoolen[11];
Indeed, I am more than stupid:
Ashamed am I composing this lay.
Twenty-four years have gone by
Since I moved to the island of Singapore;
My wife and children accompanied me
To Singapore, a most lovely country.
I stayed in Riau[12] for some time
Together with my wife and children;
Two full years in Riau territory,
Back to Singapore my legs carried me.
At the time when Acheh[13] was waging war
I went there with goods to trade,
I managed to sell them at exhorbitant prices:
Great indeed were the profits I made.

Casino Queen
Well the money's pouring down and the people all look down,
And it's floating out of town
I hit the second deck and I spend my paycheck,
And my wife that I just met, she's looking like a wreck
Casino Queen, my lord you're mean
I've been gambling like a fiend on your tables so green
I always bet on black, blackjack,
I'll pay you back
The room fills with smoke and I'm already broke,
And the dealer keeps on joking as he takes my last token
Casino Queen, my lord you're mean
I've been gambling like a fiend on your tables so green
Casino Queen, my lord you're mean
I've been gambling like a fiend on your tables so green

Stagger Lee
The night was clear and the moon was yellow
And the leaves came tumbling down
I was standing on the corner
When I heard my bulldog bark
He was barking up at the two men
Who were gambling in the dark
It was stagger lee and billy
Two men who gambled late
Stagger lee threw a seven
Billy swore, he threw an eight
Stagger lee told billy,
I cant let you get away with that
Well, youve won all my money
And my brand new stetson hat
Stagger lee ran home
Went and got him his 44
Said, Im going to the bar room
Just to pay that debt that I owe
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Said, i m going to the bar room
Just to pay that debt that I owe
Stagger lee went to the bar room
Boy, he stood across the bar room doors
Said, now, nobody move
And he pulled out his 44
Stagger lee, cried billy
Oh, please dont you take my life
I got me three little children
And a very sickly wife
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Got me three little children
And a very, very sickly wife
Stagger lee shot billy
Boy, he shot that poor boy so bad
That the bullet came thru billy
And went right thru the bartenders glass
While I was standing on the corner
When I heard my bulldog bark
He was barking up at the two men
Who were gambling in the dark
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Well, he was barking up at the two men
Who were gambling in the dark

Delia
Delia was a gambling girl, gambled all around,
Delia was a gambling girl, she laid her money down.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Delias dear ol mother took a trip out west,
When she returned, little delia gone to rest.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Delias daddy weeped, delias momma moaned,
Wouldnt have been so bad if the poor girl died at home.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Curtis looking high, curtis looking low,
He shot poor delia down with a cruel forty-four.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
High up on the housetops, high as I can see,
Looking for them rounders, looking out for me.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Men in atlanta, tryin to pass for white,
Delias in the graveyard, boys, six feet out of sight.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Judge says to curtis, whats this noise about?
All about them rounders, judge, tryin to cut me out.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Curtis said to the judge, what might be my fine?
Judge says, poor boy, you got ninety-nine.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Curtis in the jail house, drinking from an old tin cup,
Delias in the graveyard, she aint gettin up.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Delia, oh delia, how can it be?
You loved all them rounders, never did love me.
All the friends I ever had are gone.
Delia, oh delia, how can it be?
You wanted all them rounders, never had time for me.
All the friends I ever had are gone.

News
He sticks to his guns
He take the road as it comes
It takes the shine off his shoes
Hes says its a shame
You know it may be a game
But I wont play to lose
Hes burning the grass
He take up a glass
He swallow it neat
He crosses the floor
He open the door
He take a sniff of the street
And she tell him that hes crazy
Shes saying listen baby
Im your wife
She tells him hes crazy
For gambling with his life
But he climbs on his horse
You know he feels no remorse
He just kicks it alive
His motor is fine
He take it over the line
Until hes ready to dive
And she tells him that hes crazy
Shes saying listen baby
Im your wife
Shes tell him hes crazy
For gambling with his life
He sticks to his guns
He take the road as it comes
It takes the shine off his shoes
Hes says its a shame
You know it may be a game
But I wont play to lose
He sticks to his guns
He take the road as it comes
It takes the shine off his shoes
Hes too fast to stop
He take it over the top
He make a line in the news

Rambling Dan
I'm Rambling Dan, I'm a gambling man,
I travel, no base, temptations I face,
I'm sharp on a wager, to win something major,
I have what it takes, and risk very high stakes.
A spin of the wheel, such excitement I feel,
The pull of the baize, one could never erase,
At a race I will bet, and a place I will get,
It's the thrill of the game, which still lights a flame.
I'm a winner you see, it's the sinner in me,
A roll of the dice, is enough to suffice,
It's a drug that I crave, with me now, to the grave,
I'm a gambling man, I'm Rambling Dan.

Life Is a Gambling
Up, up and up;
Down, down and down;
Up, down and up;
Down, up and down.
One of them is the fate
Of the one in gambling.
Life is a gambling.

No Rebirths
Quick profit; huge profit; it’s gambling.
Quick loss; huge loss; it’s gambling.
Once tasted, one never risks again.
Instant and extend pleasure; it’s the world.
Acute and chronic sufferings; it’s the world.
Hence the Hindus pray for no rebirths.

Son Of A Rotten Gambler
(chip taylor)
And his love will be his vision
And hell take you where you stand
And will you stand your life by his
And help the boy become a man
And hed be the son of his father his father the teacher
Teaching love and honesty being his own man handler
For the son of the son of run of the mill run
Rotten gambler
Will the devil be getting to you as you look back
Over what youve done
And what youve done was it for reason or rhyme
Was it just for fun
And hed be the son of his father his father the teacher
Teachin love and honesty being his own man handler
For the son of the son of run of the mill run
Rotten gambler
Back on the road now you can lose your head
There aint no kingdom for the gambling man
You know the road now and youve made your stand
When his eyes shine upon you shine upon you
And hed be the son of his father his father the teacher
Teaching love and honesty being his own man handler
For the son of the son of run of the mill run
Rotten gambler
Back on the road now you can lose your head
There aint no kingdom for the gambling man
You know the road now and youve made your stand
When his eyes shine upon you shine upon you
And hed be the son of his father his father the teacher
Teaching love and honesty being his own man handler
Or the son of the son of run of the mill run
Rotten gambler

Bet on the blues (paxton)

Five hundredll buy you a stack. bet it on the red or the black and youll
Lose, bet on the blues.
You tell me youre a gambling man.
Try to beat the house if you can and you lose, bet on the blues.
If youre looking to get an inside slant,
If youre looking for something so good you cant refuse, bet on the blues.
Find a man who thinks hes over the hump,
Im here to tell you hes a kind of a chump you can use, bet on the blues, bet
On the blues.
Lucky old sun is shining today. even money says youll be paying some dues, bet
On the blues.
You say you found your lady fair.
Eight to five shes wearing her traveling shoes, bet on the blues.
Five hundredll buy you a stack. bet it on the red or the black and youll
Lose, bet on the blues.

Mere Shadows March
Welcome to the shadow march
Longer then longest lines of the undying
To many reasons never enough answer
here another
here another
why the did this happen to me
why did everybody give up
when i was at my weakest
now ill shall surround myself with those who are silent
no ill intent
none want revenge
they just want to be avenged
given the respect do'ly deserved
as we all do we want those who wrong us to make it right
a little give then a little take
welcome to the shadow march
Longer then the longest lines of the undying
to many reasons never enough answers
here's another
here's another
why did you screw me over
was it out of pride
were you looking for a fight
was it just not my night
or was it not yours
doesn't matter who's right
you still weren't the friend in the end
traitor like many by the color within
the true ignorant
are those who believe there's something for nothing
every thing comes at price
even the best gambling man
still has to roll the dice
so tell me what did you sacrifice
what did you lose this time
welcome to my shadow march
longer then longest lines of the undying
to many reason never enough answers
here's another
here's another
who's to say what i would have really said
inserted words are as common as your daily bread
open your mouth get ready to be fed
all the lies, all the cheap shots
enough is enough
lets see what you really got tough guy
are you really ready to die for the small things
the minuscule things

Gambling Man
Walking into the betting shop
his heart pounding within;
he'd studied form and was quite sure
the horse he backed would win.
Mountains of his cash he wagered
did this hyped-up gambling man
and beads of perspiration fell
when the horse, with gusto, ran.
Stakes were high! A richly sum
lay in the coffers there...but
as the horse began to weary
distress was hard to bear.
A chance to win a fortune
dissolved before his eyes;
the losing horse was an 'also-ran'
That's life, for gambling guys.
