Violent Blue
Stars twinkled bright
on descending twilight
gentle zephyr blew
I dance to you
upon crippled feet
Lips stitched shut
I cannot speak
Forgotten vows
and dead devotions
Do I really need to write
a ballad of the whore
that kept her legs open
Muscles tense
as common sense
hustles leaving lines
illogical unheard explanations
As I battle my thoughts
and come to grips
Mental terms
Penned concerns
Words strike
Reality burned
Anger is today's mood
I fight too pretty
and I love too ugly
Men are shit
and girls are icky
Abandoned
damned
to be alone
Cold metal
Beretta
Hidden beneath
loves disguise
My veins
they pulse
and pound
in violent blue
In a flash of lost control
Blood drops
Shattered parts
The deepening
shades of me
At 3 pm the dead hour
we journeyed to our end
Stars twinkled bright
on descending twilight
If thoughts
could yield
verse would end
