Withered Rose

A rose I used to hold so dearly
cherishing it where ever I see
but why didn't I see it clearly?
How soon the rose did bloom

A rose I grew on such occasion
and gave it to her
As beautiful as any painting
she accepted it without hesitation

A rose that was blossoming
do you want to reminisce with me?
I nourished this rose every day
but it was too much for her to see

A rose that was slowly dying
but I ran out of water
I can't seem to get it off the ground
is this how it will decay?

A rose that turned black
just like the ground beneath it
Withered and torn
forever in the hole it deserves
