This is the Mall

There is a mall in your town
Were people go just to walk around
Wandering here and wandering there
Spending their money without a care

The ways of old are not found here
Save for the seniors who sit and stare
It’s a meeting place for all to be
Mothers with their children running free

And teenagers giggling, as life goes by
Not thinking of tomorrow or the reasons why
Watching children hurry by
Looking for a new toy to catch their eye

Keys jingle and gangel
Thinking of the car parked out in the mangle.
Different shoes go click and clack
Following along on this concrete track

These are the faces that I see
Caught in this concrete sea
Were life rambles by at a steady crawl
In this place called the mall
