The Waves Of Emotion

My hero—where art thou hero
Calling you in my sleep
Afraid of what seeps
Through the covers
That clings to my chest
And claws into my soul
You monstrosity of an emotion
I detest you
Yet you mock me

I vomit all the sickness
All the hate
All the tears
All the screams
Onto you

I scratch and claw
And push
Yet you still hold on to me
I’m your precious china doll
So fragile
I break in an instant
I crack permanently
My pieces unwilling to bind together

But then someone comes along and glues me back
But not as I should be
Forgetting all the pain that caused me to break
Will never go away, but to learn to change
To recover and to gain myself to a higher understanding
That I can do, that I can accept.
And so, I am me again.
