The Gout in My Toe
Uric acid running down my leg
coming to rest in my right feets toe
alleviate this pain, to God I beg
for it's creeping inside, so very slow
I twist and turn
but can't get to sleep
my veins start to burn
within my surrowful feet
My foot has swollen
to almost twice its size
there is no warning
just an abrupt surprise
I elevate my leg
to ease the pain
but it retracts to my hip
leaving me the same
My mind has gone numb
every step is in agony
I realize I have lost this battle
for it's driving me into insanity.
