My heart knows
What it means to be happy,
On not too many occasions
But my heart is familiar.
My heart knows
Pain the best
Misery follows those who leave a trail
For my heart can’t help but leave a trail.
My heart knows
How to love
But to be loved back,
A task not yet mastered.
My heart knows
Loneliness
For my heart is immune to loneliness
And numb to its effects.
My heart knows
Pain and loneliness all too well
When will my heart master love?
