Mute Moon
Mute moon
Stares down in silence
Like
A woman scarred
Stripped of her dignity
Too afraid to speak
Like
A deprived child
Hungry, grieving and waiting
Too tired to speak
Like
A King enthroned
Looking at his eager subjects
Aloof in silence
Like
An enlightened scientist
Holding secrets of the future
But bound by an oath of silence
Like
A wrinkled wise old man
Concealing secrets of the past
Better left unsaid
