Molly Pitcher

Molly Pitcher went inside.
When she came out, she was told her husband had been shot in the hide.
He had been a revolutionary war militia man.
Now he lay on the ground unable to sit or stand.
Molly looked at her wounded husband's musket lying on the ground.
She dug deep into her heart and courage is what she found.
She picked up the gun and fired it at Redcoats springing up from the woods.
She fought all day as hard as she possibly could.
Her forehead filled with sweat and her temperature began to rise,
But she managed to shoot several Redcoats right between the eyes.
When the day was over and night set in,
The American's had themselves a new heroine.
