Life's Daily Grind
A plain and simple ode (owed) for all
us middle class commoners-
Now, many of us wonder
What this life is all about;
And I oft times still ponder,
So, please just hear me out.
It's drag up in the morning
And fall to bed at night;
It's all those struggles in between
That we must daily fight.
It's Johnny's flu and Susie's sty
And hubby's drinking bouts;
It's keeping up with Jonesy
And wifey's weekly pouts.
It's off to church on Sunday,
A time for prayer and thought;
It's paying all those taxes and
On things we should not bought.
Now, friends I'm here to tell you,
This life is really tough;
But, let me dropp a passing thought,
Before you yell enough.
These trials and many others
Must never slow our pace;
For we, my friends were chosen
To run this human race.
