Imagination and Memory

IMAGINATION

Running hurriedly from the shadows
Which materialise in unimaginable contortions
Nothing feels real now, all is but hollow
In fact, the only thing real is man's imagination

Some men search for peace and equity
Arduous, thankless tasks of the conflagrant soul
That drive moral men to recurring inebriety
While lesser men take to becoming ghouls

MEMORY

Some seem to grasp the essence of life
With seemingly-annoyingly-negligible effort
It must be that they once existed in strife
Reincarnated; disowning poverty henceforth

It is said that knowing robs us of wonder
But surely knowing keeps us in check
A man who knows of poverty and hunger
Will source a million routes to his paycheque
