Evil Child

Evil Child is clearly learning
With her body slowly turning.
My new teaching methods
Have gained her full attention.
Dangling all day from a rope,
Bereft of help or hope,
Shows what may befall a lass
Difficult in class.

Evil Child is loudly shouting,
Her lips no longer pouting.
Suspended out the window
So high above the ground.
Smile, I say, not smirkle -
Mouth a semicircle,
That's the proper style,
Innocent of guile.

Evil Child now reads and writes
Without acting up or gripes.
She eyes my pocket lighter
Knowing now what it can do.
Arms and legs if lightly toasted,
(for large offenses roasted)
Can often lose their looks.
Best to hit the books.

Evil Child now meek and docile
Does not see me as a fossil
but terror smooth as cream,
Like a terrifying dream.
I think she’s found a lesson
In our most recent session:
Crocodiles, when fasting,
Are not all that they seem.
