Death Of River

As the scorching sun gains height,
The river nearby dries up,
The quiescent river never fights,
For its water even a cup.

Once, it was full of life,
For each and every living,
Like the altruism of a wife
Her power in her ring.

The poignant image of the river
Is threatening to me,
Like a women in consternation
Sitting numb on her knee.

The mother of our ancient civilization
Will bring life back again,
For her loving children,
She will keep her sane.
