Dark They Are:

Dark they are and golden eyed,
With grace like black panthers, sleek with pride,
They prowl the night, spreading far and wide,
Still, they walk among us, noticed, yet always untried,

Unholy Shades, creatures of Death, quick to come, quicker to leave,
Sustained by the life of the children of Adam and Eve,
Those that they once were can no longer grieve
Fleet as the wind, wild and free,
Shadows of Death bringing fear and misery,
Cloaked in mystery, yet plain as can be,

Deadly fangs to end the glorious hunt,
Witty remarks and humor quite blunt,
Hunger quite sated they return in triumph,
To await patiently for the next front…
