Am I Alone?

Amongst the living,
the fluid,
the alive,
Am I alone?
Amongst the happiness,
the joy,
the sarrow,
the pain,
Am I alone?
When I share my heart with none,
but believe all the same.
When I don't feel anything but
the heat of another's body,
Am I alone?
When I lay in bed,
and the air is as empty as my hallow heart,
Am I alone?
When I've read a hundred books,
and written a million poems,
when I understand all of the mysteries,
and when I unravel the troubles of the world,
Am I alone?
When tears roll down my cheeks,
and hands wipe them away,
but there is a tear in my heart,
that no mere hand can mend,
Am I alone?

Will I forever and always be,
alone.
