Across The Void
In this darkness of solitude-
My heart weeps a sorrowful song-
Into the night-
To the lonely moon,
In a starless,
Black sky-
As in the Winter wind,
I hear your voice gently whisper to me,
Of our love...
And the very thought of thee,
My love;
Warms my soul...
And dreary,
Lonely hours pass-
Like a single,
Sluggish grain of sand in an hourglass-
As if the bottom must be full,
Like a Saharan sand-dune-
'Fore I can embrace thee again...
As I long for thee,
My love-
And I ache for thee,
My love-
From across this void of solitude..
Its as if night transcends day,
Till I can unite with thee again-
Only then shall the sunshine return-
To quell this lonely,
Perpetual night;
My love...
