Thinking About You
Alone,
In the dark
Unable to sleep
Tossing and turning.
Listening quietly
To the December rain
Tossing and turning
Tossing and turning...
Restless,
Thinking about you.
Realised,
A sting of loneliness
As I opened my eyes
Staring at the celling.
No one but myself
In this small single room
Tossing and turning
Tossing and turning...
Thinking about you.
Partially wishing you were here
To lend me a listening ear
Because I admit
I too, like you,
Want to be hugged
A person, not a bolster.
The warmth of another person,
Longing for affection
Hungry for some attention
To hear some affirming words...
That I am still loved,
To have someone to remind me
That I no longer need to be lonely.
I too, desire to be loved.
Just like you,
Just like any other person.
