Billfold empty filled with lint
Text so small I have to squint
Puzzled by questions without a hint
For the finish line I have to sprint
Perilous trod without a blueprint
Following shades of shadows setup for a stint
Chewing on my last stick of spearmint
Broken limb nursed back by a splint
Arrived by night without fanfare
Searching for what that’s not really there
For journeys unknown to a place elsewhere
To the belly of the beast and the bottom of its lair
Circles slowly became a square
Bound to the ground by a wheelchair
Future seemed so unclear
Software’s no longer drives their hardware
How does someone escape a nightmare?
A better plan they wanted to prepare
Wanting not to sit in total despair
