Heart Or A Languishing Flower

Great men and despised slaves
All close their eyes
And bid farewell to tender sunsets
And the glorious sunrise,
Neither the great nor the insignificant
Are eternal, everlasting.
The best a poet can do
Is weep beautiful tears
In the midst of ephemeral life
Colored in hues of joy and sadness
And then hope those tears
Fall upon a heart or a languishing flower.
