City Stench
walking...
I listen
grit
grinding
between
shoe
and
pavement-
dampness
brings
the smell
of this
decayed city
to life
it pulsates
it pulsates
throbbing through me
Sometimes
I think,
'I should
have been a
fuckin' farmer'
But this is
the stench
I know,
not that
of
animal feces
and
chemical
fertilizer
This cities
foul odor
breathes life
into my
calcified veins
at death,
don't bury
me in a field
of wild flowers
or
6 feet under
