San Joao - The Monsoon Jamboree
With an age old aim at revelry
is this fiesta during the rains
With fun frolic and gaiety
the social awareness it campaigns
By the creek adjoining the church square
it's akin to a carnival fest
When flotilla of colorful country boats
sail past in their regal best
Music blaring out at the loudest
with ethnic flavors from the past
Touch nostalgia and age-old magic
as if trying to create and cast
San Joao, San Joao, Viva San Joao! !
Sung In reverberating repeats
A choral reminder to one and all
ambling through Siolim Streets
