The Poem I Wrote When Happiness Returned To Me
The poem I wrote when Happiness returned to me
Was a quiet sober poem
One which knew what Pain and Despair are
And so in peace and calm
Could let Joy be small and uncertain.
The poem I wrote when Happiness returned to me
Knew that Happiness could come and go in a moment
And so did not take off from itself
But rested and waited as a sombre kind of peace.
