There Will Be No Laurels On My Head
there will be no laurels
on my head
please do not offer
any laurel leaves
on my head
i do not deserve it
i am not a slice of pork
i am neither king
nor poet.
just give me a dew
for i am a leaf
just hand me a little
moss
and give me that shade
of wet and green
a little moisture
for i am
also a
stone.
