Lust

What feeds the greed and itch for more power?
The infamous, to numb, and bear more shame,
To climb pedestals, very much higher,
To snatch a crown, with or without, the fame?
The beastly urge, the wanton thirst for flesh,
As gluttons bide to have more than their fill,
To desire for things much newer, or fresh,
Adding to previous wishes to fulfill.
Would lust for knowledge be also a fault?
Proving grievous as would be all others?
For men did take to arts, so dark, occult,
That, even when ignored, it still bothers.
....Ah lust, which consumes without consuming,
....And, sets afire, but yet, without burning!
