The Message
I hear you
As a whisper on the wind
See you
In the setting of the sun
Perched
On a burning red horizon
Smiling at me as if to let me know
The secrets of life
Are encapsulated in a grain of sand
Lying somewhere on some lowly beach.
I hear you
In the rustling of leaves
See you
In the huts where smoke stacks rise to warm their
Occupants against the cold December night sky
I inhale you
And know you are always with me
I see the twinkle in your eyes
Reflected in the starts glistening in the night sky
I hear you
In the pure laughter of a child
See you
In the pain of a mother's eyes
Looking back at me
Letting me know
The world is not a safe place for me to hide
I must find a new place
I must begin again
I must rise from my own ashes
With hope I won't get burned again
I must find strength within
Where you make a home and abide
I must believe in you
Myself
I must not try to hide
I can no longer cloak myself
Pretending no one can see
That underneath this beating heart
Bleeds the real me
I hear you in the music
