Songs in my Life

In my childhood you did ferry me to dreamland,
On boats of lullaby.

And in my youth were songs I used to sing and hum,
So my woes bid goodbye.

A song kept together me and the one I love,
Us, as one, you did bind.

While on the altar knelt for us did sing the choir,
After we'd walked the isle.

Again for my offsprings the lullabies were sung,
Like for me it was done.

I am now in old age, I sing not anymore,
A song I can't recall.

On my way to the grave, will someone still mourn,
And still sing our song?
