Dear Lord
For sometime I have been unhappy
and my life seems to be all in vain.
No matter what I do I’m unhappy;
have I only myself to blame?
I have no desire to be rich or famous
I’d just like to be happy and content.
Am I to be one of the losers in life
and have to wait for joy to be sent?
Do you consider me not yet worthy?
Is my faith seriously in doubt?
Am I not a good enough person?
Does my character not shout out?
These questions remain unanswered
and I ask them of myself everyday.
Tomorrow I’m going to smile at the world
and maybe make someone else’s day.
