Find something to rhyme with despair
I put my finger on here
And dropped my head down there
Found something to rhyme with despair
I've given fear to fear baby
Tried to the best of hearts
Tip toed sneaked in for a single beat
I’ve given love to love baby
Signed the best of contracts
Bin counted off at the top of the pen
So I guess I have no more to give
And there’s nothing I can lift from the floor
Except a silver flapper dress at dancing
The only thing I can still make up
Are mirror glanced those eyes of mine
That still have shades to themselves
And lashes for a verse
For those appointed to tell lice from dandruff
And say a poem’ll be cursed
The Irishman said both of these were hard work
Put my finger on here
And dropp my head down there
