The Toll, A Dollar, And Some Change

take another piece of me,
take another,
and another.
Give me change for a dollar
Give me a change of pace
Take my place
Forgive me my sins
When the Devil calls on me
Will you say? 'no, take me.'
Could Jesus put his arm
around my shoulder and say?
'Come with me.'
Could I be sincere
and say no?
There is only one toll bridge
across the river to Heaven
'Yes, 'says Jesus, 'I can give you
change for a dollar.'
