Paradox

One day,
We are all
Going to die.

But we
Choose to deny
It in everyway.

What if you
You are diagnosed
With a deadly illness,
And told
Your days are numbered.
Or if you live,
To bed you will
Be confined.

After you are flooded,
With overwhelming emotions:
Shock, denial, anger
Grief and fear,
You make peace.

Then in a tranquil mind
You decide,
You will make your exit dignified.
And not go whimpering and crying.

When you learn how to die,
You learn how to live,
And enrich your life.

Finally you have the epiphany,
What is ephemeral.

It is a paradox
In dying
You learn
The art of being.
