Qualified

How are the classrooms where you live?
Are the little red bricks secretly shifting?
Have they accumulated too much debt to forgive?
Left their descendants indignantly drifting?

And how are your cathedrals and their gods?
Heavily advertising for their existence?
And where are the rains and the lightning rods?
Lost in the message like electrical resistance?

Where on the pyramids that suffered the storm?
Are the price tags of immortality etched?
Lost in the figures of a forgotten art form?
In the bones of ancient arms once outstretched?

Where are the shelters that we can afford?
Where ghosts of mirth now cower in corners?
Why are the basic needs of so many ignored?
And why do we procreate this mass of mourners?
