Constellation Light

The constellations' brilliant light
are your eyes shinning;
that illume comes out only at night
in my room.

The Milky Way is your silky hair
made of summer moons
and autumn hues;

I can reach and almost touch it
if I dream.

You laugh at my silly thought
when I tell you them
and aspire in your secret heart
to be them;
and I say
never worry you are
in my heart
and I add only a tiny bit of flattery to all this.

But be clear
flattery is a good thing
because I see you aspire to make
its vision true,
thus becoming
in my eyes
and in the universe
that constellation
true.
What good a ladder
which does not have
rungs
to guide the upward climb?
What good the path
without destination.
You are the ladder
and I have made it for you
in my dreams.
