Those Accustomed to Sitting In Darkness
Shiny things fade.
Eyes upon them dim.
Excitement goes away.
One's aging becomes noticed.
Complaints about this increase.
Each day is lived in fear.
The fearlessness of youth disappears.
And those accustomed to sitting in darkness...
Sit,
In darkness.
