Freelanced Delusions
Trite expressions exchanged,
Are as satisfying as scheduled rehearsals...
For an anticipated wedding,
That has no performance date to occur.
Or a sermon heard that is preached,
About the evils of sin.
And the evils of sin are taught to teach,
Over and over again.
A repetition done dawns on the listener,
With a purpose served...
That becomes less effective.
And affects discouragement.
Why can't folks just be upfront?
And be for real.
Instead of killing time...
To appeal to one's mind.
Why can't folks just be upfront?
And confront the truth.
Instead of diluting it...
To soothe with freelanced delusions.
