Same Old

Same old sobbing, same old laughter,
Living happily ever after,
Eating potatoes, peas, and porridge,
Then being placed back into storage.

Sliced apart, preserved in jars,
Some severed heads amidst the stars,
Distilled in vinegar on dusty shelves,
Separated- by themselves.

And in the end it's all the same,
A footnote with a face and name,
The same old mob of sad-eyed mourners,
The same old cobwebs in the corners.
