Meditations by a Fire
Deep in the forest they bury the forgotten
Victims of Stalin, the CIA, national guards
Ghosts, shallow graves, all nations corrupt
Tonight the moon rises over the tall pines
The breeze swirls like ocean tides
Loons in the distant lakes cry
Political will dissipates into apathy
I wonder how much good can be achieved
These days make me go inward
The fire burns ancient with true wisdom
logs crackle burning and turning to hot coals
I can't change the world but I can do my part
Insanity seems to rule the world
Greedy men, technologies of destruction
My kingdom is not of this world the Lord said
I know I need to really work on myself
I have such a hard time with lust
Why did God make women so dam sexy
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
I gotta try to help who I can without going nuts
The night is full of quiet intrigue by this fine fire
