Love's Last Kiss
This is the end of the beginning
His lungs supplied the air for my living
We kissed all night long with his life for my breathing
The dawn should have choked the cock from crowing
By the sun's first kissing
Disdain was all we had in our chest's lefting
We fought and went our whoring
I sat one evening by the beach watching
The sun kiss the sea goodbye
And watching the sunset set its time
When there came a tapping on my shoulder
David was looking at me but not really
I grabbed him close and had a fourth symphony
I took back the rib god had made me from
He held me so tightly, my breath was gone
I hit the ground as he left me go
He took his last breath from my mouth
I unveiled his eyes...he was blind
And loved me blindly.
