Colonialism Of The Heart

And then
There comes a day
when one passes the other
as one among the crowd

Come one may
as a polite guest
gently knocking
at the walls of the heart

The politeness leads
to little closeness
and then to occupying the heart
something similar to
fanon's theory of colonialism!

There comes a day
once again in a different way
where the knock fades into thin air
and the foolish heart
keeps hearing every sound
as that gentle knock
that still reverberates the walls

And when the foolishness
gives a hard stare
into the now empty eyes
that's when the ground under the feet
caves in as if an earthquake

Easier to realize the foolishness
difficult to come to terms!
