A Poem on Yin and Yang

Somehow, these days
Whenever it rains
On parched earth
It no longer sends
A tickling perfume

I smell burning fire!

Somehow, these days
Whenever I look up at the moon
On a moon-lit night
It no longer sets
My passion high

I see forest-fire spreading across it!

Somehow, these days
Whenever I walk by the sea
On cool mornings
It doesn't uplift
My spirit to negotiate the day

I somehow smell of rotten fish!

Somehow, these days
Whenever I think of love
Teasing me and tantalizing me
I see it as a single dominant emotion
That balances or subdues
Other emotions that manifest
In either love or fear
The yin and yang
Of the world we inhabit
