The Smile That Rocked My Heart
The first time I saw your adamantine smile,
I thought that I was having a panic attack.
My mouth was hermetically shut and packed
With feelings that I could not limn with style.
I was short of breath, trembling and speechless,
In front of this light, in front of this image.
I could not fathom that in this day and age
That an étrangère could have made me so powerless.
I was rocked, blinded and hypnotized. I was possessed
By a mysterious spirit that I was ashamed to call:
Love. Because I know that she can use her prowess
To turn her victim into something very small.
And I also know that love at first sight can be nocuous,
Toxic, volatile, explosive, and unpredictable like death.
Don't get me wrong; overtime, Love has the stealth
And the stamina to make life incogitable and wondrous.
