A Tribute to Ms. Lena Horne
All God’s creatures are beautiful, however,
The Almighty took a little bit extra-time
To accomplish this legendary jazz singer.
I am talking about Lena Horne. In her prime,
She denounced racism, the ugliness that existed
In our society; unfortunately, this cancer
Is still around, it has not been eradicated.
This singing bird was the epitome of beauty,
She was wonderful inside and outside.
Her charms, bravery and charisma will glide
For a long time; she left an indelible mark on this society.
Ms. Horne took her last breath this morning,
She departed with pride and style.
She was a treasure, an exquisite darling
That will forever nourish my inspiring mind.
Bon voyage! May God’s lights continue
To shine her path and protect our people.
The Lady was not a tramp. She had a subtle
Beauty; she was the best piece of an appetizing menu.
