Virginity at stake
I was in deep anguish but unable to cry
So many questions in mind but couldn’t ask why?
Was my academic carrier to come to an abrupt halt?
What steps were essential to lift spirit and exalt?
It involves great sum for higher studies
It adds to tension and unwanted worries
It is not simple matter to be tackled with ease
It requires financial backing with fund release
As poor peasant’s girl I had no way for higher study
I could curse only fate and felt so much pity
There was no course open for money support
No miracle ship was to come with call at port
It is absolutely clear that poor have no where to go
So many things they have to compromise and forgo
At each and every step they have to face with crisis
Where was the question for them to go and emphasis?
When you have no shelter or cover for future/
It altogether represents picture very insecure
You find no way or even slight hope for tomorrow
It is only left for you to beg or to go and borrow
What people ask for in return of favor?
Pluck the flower from garden for flavor?
This was not some thing new to grasp
I was going to prove for me the great task
I knocked every door for possible help
No one came forward to help myself
It was proving difficult to come out
I had no option left but to opt for fall out
I had great dilemma and trauma to undergo
What else I could offer or things to forgo?
I could offer only my body for auction
I could still believe it as hasty action
It was better to face onslaught at once
It was feared they may take out flash and pounce
What was use of having modesty for nothing?
It least carrier would provide me something
Why not to take revenge on system or society?
Was I not the commodity for sale in variety?
I offered to auction my virginity in open
