The gold of your eyes
The gold of your eyes
is like the sun on a summer’s day,
the auburn of your hair
more beautiful than spring and autumn.
The glow in your smile
is brighter than the snow,
the pink red blush on your cheeks
is more beautiful
than the flowers in your hair
and the softness of your face
cuts past all borders
and brings you deep in my heart,
but it’s your humanity
that hits the deepest nails
into my soul
and maybe the thing
about what love is essentially,
is clear in what a person is
and are able to become
more than the mere feelings
that you read
in someone’s eyes.
