For Lina Spies
Sometimes you let me think
of a small girl
whose eyes are full of the shining stars,
sometimes I find
a sensible mature woman
who spreads her words free and full of spirit
and comely pours a glass of wine
you let me laugh, cry and make me happy
and your trust in the Lord
is true and solid like a rock
as if you are always looking up into His eyes
and time after time
it’s as if your verses fit into my mind,
as if things sometimes look the same to us both.
