I Can Always Tell
when clouds fill the horizon
I can see the signs
I can always tell
when rains will arrive
there's tapping on the skylight
the deer run for the woods
you get up very slowly
and lay down in your room
then later
after many years
when all the wells are dry
the rain wakes the savannah
you rush into the garden
glistening and golden
your face turned to the sky.
