Boots And Brollies

Drumbeat rhythm, on the rooftops,
Hear the vibrations of the raindrops,
Hailstones pelting, high-voltage flash,
Puddles forming, high winds thrash.

Boots and brollies are needed when,
Rain’s been forecast by the Weathermen.
Thus keeping us all from getting wet,
When the squall becomes a threat.

Rhythmic tapping, at the windowpanes,
Water gushing hastily, down the drains,
Tempest pounding as thunder roars,
Lashing out as it downward pours.

Boots and brollies are needed too,
To keep us dry, the whole storm through,
Then suddenly, as if the Lord was nigh,
Comes a clear blue, cloudless sky.
