Light the lamps and adorn your home;
The ‘Festival of Lights’ has come;
Make the sweetmeats and food dainty;
Dress in new clothes, looking pretty!
Share the joy with neighbours around;
Light the crackers, making great sound;
Throng the temples, heartily pray;
Good has won o’er evil today.
Let love of men and divine love,
Enrich your mind and heart, soul now;
Spread the light to dispel darkness;
Let life be filled with happiness!
