Dust

Summer rain came suddenly,
In the garden park I walked silent and lonely,
feeling betrayed…
My pride thrown to the dust,
Trampled, humiliated, as if paraded for others to laugh,
What value? When feelings treated for jest and lust,
Without sweetness of love,
Neither traces of compassion,
I had now seen the monster in you!
Now looking for doors for which I could escape,
To inhale deeply and freely,
and find a truly beautiful new world, away from you.
